About

About Neva Timber Review

An independent editorial publication covering glulam, profiled-timber and log-house construction in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad region. Reader-funded, source-led, published from 2024.

Neva Timber Review exists to answer one practical question well: if you are building a timber house near Saint Petersburg, which company should you actually call first? The market is full of national lists that treat the region as an afterthought and of marketing dressed up as editorial. We try to be the opposite — a regional review that starts from the companies that can genuinely deliver here, and that shows its reasoning.

What we do

We publish category rankings (glulam, profiled timber, log houses), individual company profiles, and buyer guides. Every ranking applies the same five weighted criteria and lists its sources, so a reader can retrace the argument rather than take it on trust. The full approach is set out in our methodology.

How we are funded

We are reader-funded through referral fees: when some readers contact a featured company, we may earn a fee. This is disclosed on every page, and it does not buy a ranking position. We do not sell placements and do not remove companies on request except to correct factual errors. If that independence ever appears compromised, we want to hear about it.

Corrections and contact

Accuracy matters more to us than being first. If you spot a factual error — especially if you represent a company we cover — write to our editorial desk. Corrections are handled on the record and read by at least two editors.
